About Us

Hey there! Welcome to farmyardfables.com. My name’s David, and I’m the owner of this here online patch of farmland, a place where we share stories, tips, and all the nitty-gritty of our day-to-day life on the farm.

I hail from the great state of Texas, where I first cut my teeth on farming by the side of my dad, tending to cows, goats, pigs, and more.

Can’t forget those early mornings and late nights, all worth it for the passion I discovered.

As far back as I can remember, I was elbow-deep in the dirt, sun on my back, a little bit of sweat on my brow, and a whole lot of love for the animals and the land.

But, life had its twists and turns, and I ended up bagging a Masters degree in Communication and wading into the corporate world.

Talk about a fish out of water! But hey, I learned a lot about people, just like I had with animals back on the farm.

It was like the farm was a magnet, and my heart was made of steel. After years in the city, I was pulled right back to my roots.

So, I made the big leap. I traded in my business suit for overalls, bought a farm in beautiful Wayne County, Ohio, and moved in with my amazing wife and our four kiddos.

I’ve gotta say, there’s no feeling quite like seeing your children wake up with the roosters, tending to the animals and learning the value of hard work, just like I did as a kid.

On farmyardfables.com, I’ll share my family’s journey as we navigate our farm life. It’s not always a walk in the park, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Together, we’ll learn about raising animals, farming hacks, the ups and downs, and we’ll surely share a laugh or two along the way. You can contact me via email: david@farmyardfables.com

Mary

Mary Team member at farmyardfablesMary has been retired for several years now. Previously she worked as a high school biology teacher, inspiring young minds to explore the wonders of life and nature.

She has a love for animals that’s as deep as the Grand Canyon, and a knack for explaining the ins and outs of animal biology that would make even the toughest professor tip their hat.

Retirement hasn’t slowed Mary down one bit. No siree! Instead of resting on her laurels, she’s taken her love for teaching, combined it with her passion for animals, and brought it all to farmyardfables.com.

Here, she serves as our resident “animal whisperer” and expert on all things related to animal health and biology.

When Mary isn’t busy sharing her wisdom with us, you can bet your boots she’s out in her backyard, tending to her impressive flock of chickens and a garden that would put Eden to shame. It’s this hands-on experience, combined with her extensive knowledge, that makes Mary such a gem in our team.

Sean

Sean team member at farmyardfablesSean has a degree in computer engineering. However, he grew up on a farm in the rolling hills of Kentucky, surrounded by the bleating of goats, the clucking of chickens, and the gentle lowing of cows.

It’s there that he fell head over heels for the farm life, all the while developing a knack for all things techy.

Sean, our resident “Farm Tech Guru,” is proof that the worlds of farming and computer engineering can not only coexist, but they can thrive together.
